Privacy Policy
Tally is a daily puzzle made by FieryZephyr Games, an independent developer. This page explains what data the Tally website and the Tally app use, why, and the choices you have. In short: there are no accounts, your progress stays on your device, and we don't sell personal data.
1. Your puzzle progress
Your scores, attempts, streaks, revealed answers and settings are stored only on your own device (in your browser for the website, in app storage for the app). We don't receive them. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app deletes them.
2. Daily player chart
To show how many players solved each day's puzzle, the website and app send an anonymous count to our server when you play a daily puzzle: the date, the level, and, if you got a Perfect, how many tries it took. It contains no name, account, device ID or cookie, and is stored only as running totals.
3. Analytics
- Website: page visits are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics (aggregate, no cookies). Google Analytics records gameplay events such as puzzle submissions, streaks and shares, and uses cookies.
- App: PostHog records gameplay events such as app opens, puzzle submissions and shares, tied to a random ID created on your device (not your name or email). We use this to understand how the game is played and to improve it.
- To decide whether to ask for consent, the website and app look up your country from your connection's IP address. We keep only the country code, not the IP address.
In the EU, UK and other regions that require it, analytics runs only if you agree. Elsewhere it's on by default and you can turn it off at any time: on the website in Terms, in the app in Settings → Data.
4. Ads
Tally is free and shows ads: Google AdSense on the website and Google AdMob in the app (a banner on some screens, and a short video before the answer is revealed). Google and its partners may use cookies (website) or your device's advertising ID (app) to show and measure ads, including personalised ads.
- EU/UK players are asked for consent through Google's consent message, and can change their choice later from Tally's Terms.
- Turn off personalised ads on the web at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
- On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.
- Google's use of data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Reminders
If you turn on daily reminders in the app, they are scheduled on your device. No push token or personal data is sent to us.
6. Reporting a problem
If you use "Report a problem", we receive the message you type plus your browser or device type, so we can fix the issue. It's delivered to us by email (via Resend). Please don't include personal information you don't want to share.
7. Purchases
If the app offers an optional purchase, payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card details. RevenueCat, our purchase provider, receives an anonymous purchase record so the app can confirm what you've unlocked.
8. Who receives data
Only the service providers named above, each for the purpose described: Cloudflare (hosting, page counts, the player chart), Google (Analytics, AdSense, AdMob, Google Play), PostHog (app analytics), Resend (problem reports) and RevenueCat (purchases). We don't sell or rent personal data.
9. Children
Tally isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them.
10. Your choices and rights
You can turn off analytics, change ad consent, reset your advertising ID, or delete everything by clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app. Because we don't have accounts, the analytics we hold isn't linked to your name, but you can contact us about access or deletion and we'll help where we can.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
